Penny Pincher Gazette – Save Time and Money

I’ve spoken in the past about how much money can be saved online or in store with the right coupons, but like many of you, I don’t always take advantage of the savings. Why? Well, it comes down to time and hassle factor. If I’m in a hurry, I just don’t take the time to search out a coupon for what I’m looking for. Then I get home and kick myself because I could have kept more of my money if I would have just looked around first. But sometimes I just can’t spend time going from site to site.  Luckily I just found Penny Pincher Gazette. A coupon aggregate site where I can search for high value coupons and print them on the spot. Plus, I can even download some coupons to my store loyalty cards! With six distribution partners,, Coupon Network, SmartSource, RedPlum, SavingStar and Cellfire you are bound to find what you need! Founded in 2006, they have over a million members now! Including me!

Nowadays there are more families than ever turning to coupons to stay on track budget wise and finding an easy streamlined place to get all your discount coupons (for free, no membership fees, btw!) is almost a must! Whether you bank your savings for a family trip, spend it on a little splurge or even use it to pay down debt- $10,$20 or $30 a month in savings can really add up!

For instance, I decided to see what I could have used on our last shopping trip…and I’m a little ticked off that didn’t take advantage!

I could have saved:

$1.00 on Garnier Shampoo

$1.00 on Curel

$4.00 on my NightGaurd

$3.00 on Covergirl

$ 9.00! And that’s just on the makeup and personal items I bought! I didn’t even go through the food I purchased.

They have made it easy since I can search by category, like “breakfast”  or “household” as well as by brand name or even by store.

I’m making a very late resolution for 2013.  I vow not to go shopping- online or to town without first checking if there is a coupon for anything on my list!!

What about you? Do you check for coupons before you shop? Why or why not?

Activia Selects – A Review

I am a hard-core yogurt lover.  Plain, flavored, frozen, as a topping, in a smoothie, really anything you can do with yogurt I’ll love it. Not just because it’s good for you either. I consider it a treat. Like just about everyone else, I’ve been on a Greek yogurt kick for ages. When I got my coupons to sample Activia Selects I decided to try the French version in Strawberry. Oh my goodness! I’ve become so used to the super thick and almost dense texture and mouth feel of the Greek varieties that the French style knocked me over with the incredible creamy, almost silky texture of it. The strawberry chunks ( yes, chunks, no little microscopic “bits” of fruit here, actual chunks of fruit!) tasted sweet and fresh.
Overall, a perfect, creamy taste. My son and daughter were more enthusiastic than me, even. The lightness compared to the more heavy duty Greek, was a huge hit. Hub is still anti-yogurt except as a sour cream substitute, oh well. At least my kids are happy to choose this yogurt instead of high calorie snacks. As a mom, this pleases me because Activia Selects have some great nutrition and digestive benefits.

Taken from their site:

Activia helps regulate your digestive system* when consumed for two weeks as as part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle*

But how does it do it, and why is its exclusive culture, Bifidus Regularis, so important?

After you eat, food passes through the digestive tract and is gradually broken down into smaller parts, like sugars, fats and proteins. These nutrients are absorbed by your body and are part of what helps you lead an active and healthy lifestyle.

This is where Activia, with Bifidus Regularis (Bifidobacterium lactis DN-173 010), can help! Clinical studies show that Bifidus Regularis survives passage through the digestive system and arrives in the gut, which is where Activia provides its benefit Activia with Bifidus Regularis helps regulate the digestive system.

Hubby could certainly use the digestive support but he is as stubborn a mule.  I bet I could use Activia French in strawberry in a dessert and he’d love it!

If you would like to try it for FREE- you can go here for a coupon!

I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Dannon Activia Selects Yogurt Series and received a coupon to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate. However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments.
