able planet travelers choice headphone review

The man of the house is the one who has primarily been using these headphones, so I will let him take it from here…

I have been using the Able Planet Travelers Choice Headphones with my iPod and my Korg M-50 Music Workstation and I must say these headphones are amazing for the price. I had been using a pair of Sennhieser HD 202’s which are fairly good quality for the $30 to $40 dollar range but when I put on the Able Planet Phones I could immediately tell a difference. The clarity and bass were a definite improvement over the Sennhieser Headphones and I hadn’t even turned on the switch to activate the Linx Audio Technology. Linx Audio gives more depth and clear vocals even at lower volumes the only downfall to this is you have to use a AAA battery to power it. The headphones work without Linx but to get the full effect it is definitely recommended. The sound gets a little muddy when the battery gets low but the battery life is surprisingly long considering the sound it puts out. I have got at least 15 to 20 hours out of one battery. I have been using these around the house for the most part but they are actually made for travel. These headphones are compact and very lightweight but the construction is far superior than that of the Sennheiser. They fold up for easy storage and even come with a travel bag that includes an airplane adapter and 1/4 in headphone adapter. They also have in line volume control for easy volume adjustment. The ear cups are comfortable and work great at blocking out outside noise. These would work great in a crowded area such as an airplane or bus. All in all I am enjoying my Able Planet Headphones and would definitely recommend them to someone looking for quality sound given by some of the more high end headphones (such as Dre Beats or Bose) for a more affordable price. These get 4 out of 5 stars from me. And thanks to Able Planet for letting us review one of their great products.

  4. These sound like a must have! I like how the review said the earcuffs are comfortable, a lot of times they aren’t so these really do sound like something I’d be interested in :)
