I just finished my first read through of a book called Your Health In Your Hands- Living and Aging Well written by B. Kathy Wright ND. Let me just say, wow. This book is so jam packed with information, inspiration and encouragement you feel like you just went to a booster meeting! I feel like I am raring to go and have already started making lists.
Kathy is a traditional naturopath who has done a ton of research to put this book together. This book is an “organic workbook” with information and actions and attitude changes that will affect the quality of your well-being in the area of physical health.I want to highlight a few of my favorite parts for you.
Chapter 2- Food and Health.
I think this is my favorite part of the book. Kathy spends the time to educate you about the gaps and deficiencies in the average diet.
Chapter 5- Antioxidants and Free Radicals
A nice overview of foods that you can and should add to your diet.
Chapter 7- Wellness shows on the face
Information on how nutrients are used by our largest organ and some really great skin treatment products you can make right in your own kitchen.
Chapter 19 Evaluating your diet-
Just what it says- Eye opening!
There are also over 60 pages of clean, good for you recipes.Interspersed through out are action plans and encouragement to take an honest look at how your living, and where will that get you five or ten years from now?
If you are wanting to make changes in your diet and lifestyle, this book can be an invaluable resource.
